After spending some time exploring other parts of SE Asia, the city-state of Singapore is refreshingly modern. A city built on finance, skyscrapers tower over the CBD, while the well-kept and closely manicured city parks provide respite from the concrete jungle. Singapore is also C-L-E-A-N- a welcome change from some of SE Asia’s other metropolises. Because of these distinguishing characteristics, Singapore also tends to be significantly more expensive than most other cities in SE Asia. Luckily, it is small- a country that is only one city- and can be explored in a quick day or two.
